Teaching Theory is fun!

I have to be so creative to express such dry material and implement it in a very interesting way. That is my job. I use a lot of flashcards and actual songs for examples. With different games I can teach you how to read the notes, what is tempo, how to count the beats, what is melody and harmony, what is exactly a chord progression etc.

We go level by level.

Level 8 Theory exam is important if you would like to transfer your credits to the High school. This is a written exam. We take the lecture during the Theory lesson. I point out the difficult spots, so you can avoid the mistakes. I will send you home with homework. You are obligated to prepare the homework for the next session. Next lesson we check out your homework. I point out the mistakes and we fix them. This way we continue step by step every week to get you ready for the exam.

For the last couple of sessions, we do tests, check them out, and review possible mistakes.

I have a lot of students, who were able to take the Level 8 RCM theory exam and to use their credits for the High school. It is true that the exam is quite serious but you feel satisfaction that you did something major in your life.

Music Theory rules didn't change a lot in the last 300 years! After learning so many rules, your appreciation and understanding of music deepens, so you would like to learn more and more! I am with you on that journey through the music time!
